Heidi
is the founder and project coordinator of Scandi-Native that offers a
variety of different Native American-related media and educational projects.
She has performed as an actress for “Lille Månestråle”
(– a bicultural documentary series about her Norwegian/Lakota daughter
and their life and relation to the Lakota culture) and also played a role
in the Norwegian / French / American production “Tashunga”
(starring Burt Young, Christopher Lambert and James Caan). Heidi assisted
in the casting for the movie “Dances with Wolves” (done by
Kevin Costner) as she found the actor to play the Medicine Man required
for the Winthercamp-part, besides in a documentary about herself and her
native american cultural connection, broadcasted on Norwegian national
TV2. She is also the author of the book “Cankú Lúta
– The Red Road” which deals with native American Indian life
philosophies and has written the foreword in the Norwegian edition of
the book “Winonas Wisdom” by pshychologist Priscilla Cogan,
(Published by Hilt & Hansteen). She is currently working on her own
documentary project that deals with the Native American/Indigenous culture
and philosophies. Besides this, she coordinates cultural tours & spiritual
journeys in North- & South America.
Heidi is also adopted daughter of Charlotte Black Elk - great grand
daughter of Nicholas Black Elk – author of the known book “Black
Elk Speaks.”
